At Groton Ledyard Veterinary Hospital, our advanced surgical facility is state of the art. When your pet undergoes surgery at our hospital, they will be monitored by a skilled surgical technician at all times. We believe in a pain-free experience, both during and after the surgical procedure.

IV Catheters are placed in all surgical patients, and they are kept on intravenous fluids throughout their procedures. Patients are given anesthesia and their vitals are closely monitored before, during, and after surgery:

  • Monitored Before surgery: pre-surgical exams are done the day of
  • Monitored During surgery: Heart rate, ECG’s, Blood pressure, Oxygenation, Respiration, Temperature, Anesthesia plane depth
  • Monitored After surgery: temperature, pulse, respiration, heart rate, pain level
